Just a few days ago I wrote that 1/4 of developers to not make any revenue on Android ecosystem. For some developers if you factor in costs of development, support and bugs fixes for the fragmented OS it makes little sense to be there.
Mika Mobile, popular game app developer had enough. "From a purely economic perspective, I can no longer legitimize spending time on Android apps, and the new features of the market do nothing to change this." No wonder, "Android sales amounted to around 5% of our revenue for the year, and continues to shrink" while spending 20% of man hours on "porting, platform specific bug fixes, customer service, etc".
Android ecosystem is full of holes that are getting bigger and bigger, as I wrote previously, and it will only will get worse if issues are not addressed. Just renaming of Android Market into Play won't do it.
